On yesterday I had an interesting conversation with my two year old daughter. It went something like this:
Daughter: “Mommy look!”
Me: (While sorting through her outfits and clothing paying more attention to folding them…yet listening) “What is it sweetie?” (Still looking at clothing and not what she was showing me)
Daughter: “Mommy, Mommy, LOOK!!!” (This time with more emphasis!)
Me: (Still sorting, this time looking at her instead of what she was showing me) “What baby?” (Turning back to sorting)
Daughter: “Mommy it’s KING JESUS!!!” (Excitedly)
Me: (Drops clothes and focus on what she was trying to show me but did not see Him) “What did you say? King Jesus?”
Daughter: “Yea, JESUS!”
Me: (Thinking is she serious? Suddenly realizing the hallway paneling had something on it that she thought reminded her of Jesus…) “Wow baby! King Jesus is here!”
Daughter: “YEAHHH” (then she goes back to playing like nothing ever happened with this child like faith…)
I then realized that the everyday chores of life can have us so focused on the unimportant and it takes the child like faith to remind us that “Look! King JESUS is HERE and ALIVE!” So whenever we come to the point that we are caught up in everyday life remember “JESUS is HERE” you better LOOK or you just might miss HIM! God Bless!
